The power of digital computing has in many ways revolutionized the world. Lots of businesses and procedures could not be possible without computer systems. Computation, calculations and robotics operations has most certainly moved mankind forward into the 21st century. So many improvements has been generated in such a short span of time with the help of digital computer systems. Mankind has exploited this technology in an effort to move further and faster into the future by focusing ideas and efforts towards robotic system. We today almost certainly looking at a futuristic view of the world tomorrow where computer systems has a firm position in human society. Yet with all of these astounding achievements in this age of digital freedom I have to admit I am shocked at how so many people gravitate to the idea that the computer, robot is and can be superior to the human being! That is correct I said I am shocked!
We look at all that the computer can do and we compare our limitations with these systems that seems to not have any limitations as we surmise that the robot, computer is superior.

I have to tell you that a simple handheld calculator can outdo me any day of the week does that make it superior? I tell you an old beat up jalopy can out run me without even trying, does that make it superior to me? There are all sorts of things that can outdo human like the microwave oven, photographic camera, stereo sound systems all of these mechanical systems can outperform human beings hands down but we recognize as human beings they are nothing more than tools! Yet when it comes to robots and artificial intelligence there are those who have given over to the idea that robots are in fact superior to human beings. Yes they can do amazing things with speed and accuracy unmatched but a bulldozer can outdo a human being yet we don’t look at that as superior to the human being. Those people who have fallen in love with the idea of the computer or robot as superior to human beings completely glanced over the fact that these systems, robots would not even exist if it were not for the human being.
The theory of downloading the human brain into the computer seems a bit nightmarish because who ever is thinking this way are completely forgetting the makeup of a human being. Human beings are not just intelligence, human beings are very social being in that by saying I don’t believe we would fare very well if we were closed off from others like ourselves. These people have forgotten that humans can relate usually and preferably through touch. Human being can be affected by simply the feel of a feather. A human being can generate an idea right out of the blue. A computer, robot does not grasp the concept of pain, nor does the computer understand love. To have the human mind locked up inside of a computer brings to mind prisoners who are locked up in solitary confinement. It has been said a number of prisoners in that position can’t handle the loneliness and eventually their mind is affected.
I am personally confused at the idea of wanting to put human faith in an animate object who has been given code by the very beings they recognize as inferior. People look towards artificial intelligence, robot as being superior when their intelligence is coming from being who themselves have not established a relationship in peace and harmony. Just look at society today with the threat of war on the horizon, road rage on roadways, killing defenseless children for reasons unknown. To think that we can keep these attribute out of computers doesn’t seem likely because imperfection cannot create perfection!
For me it is a sad commentary to think that we can invest so much time and money into machines rather than into improving ourselves and our relationships!
